What is anAgign Life Care Professional?

An Aging Life Care Professional (ALCP) is a health and human service professional (e.g. social worker, nurse, gerontologist, etc.) with a specialized body of knowledge and experience related to aging and care issues. The ALCP assists older adults and persons with disabilities in addressing issues related to their health, psychological, functional, legal, and financial status. In addition, the ALCP coordinates ongoing care and serves as an experienced guide and resource for families of older adults and others with chronic needs. ALCP’s have extensive knowledge about the costs, quality, and availability of community resources and are members of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA).
